Imagine a world without social media. Where there is no online platforms, networks and adverts. A world where brands go to the Radio and street banners to spread their message. A world where the best form of marketing is giving out leaflets on the high street, unless you have £10000 saved to pay for a TV advert. Pretty scary world, right? In the twenty first century we are so incredibly lucky with access to so many marketing plans and opportunities. We have facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn adverts, we have softwares that organically grow our Instagram and Facebook pages, we have SEO companies and the opportunity to buy real Instagram followers. Over the last 5-8 years a whole new market of digital marketing has emerged, with over seventy percent of current start-ups being in that industry. I would say this century is blessing us, big time.
So, you have a product or a service that you offer, and a big dream of making it to the ten percent of top earners and growing your business exponentially. But, how do you actually make this happen? As Simon Sinek says, “Start with the why”. What he means by that is clearly defining why you started a particular business, what is the impact you are trying to make and how other people need what you have. All huge business have mastered this and are very clear on why they do what they do, how they do it and what they are offering. Once you are very transparent with your mission, you will connect with a wider audience and attract customers with your level of conviction. Remember, that a solid team, product development and a vision for your business are the key ingredients. Marketing is there to attract more clients, not to improve your brand.
Let’s say that you have become very clear about what you do, how you do it and why. You have the perfectly developed product or service and you are ready to serve other people through it. What are the next steps? Marketing and promotion! Who doesn’t love this duo? It allows you to take a step back and see your vision come to fruition. The question is, where to start? In the next short paragraphs, I am going to give you some simple tips on how to start and execute your marketing!
Find a digital marketing expert or be your own expert
Number one thing you want to do when you are just beginning your marketing journey is to have someone who has the experience and expertise to help you with marketing. Find a company with innovative, young people who grew up with social media. They are in their element when it comes to social media, marketing and promotion. They will tell you the do’s and don’ts and will guide you throughout the process. Alternatively, if you are on a tighter budget there are hundreds of online marketing courses you can take if you have time on your hands and want to save money. You can also follow people like Gary V and other marketing gurus for tips and tricks.
Build a website and social media profiles
Having your own website is a must in today’s business world. If you like it or not people will judge you if you don’t have a website and are actually less likely to buy from you brand. Often your digital marketing team will be able to build a website for you, and if you are doing it yourself then there are so many free-lancers out there who would love to help you. LinkedIn is great for connecting with these web designers. On the other side as well as a website you need social media presence. Not just on one platform, but on various, so don’t limit yourself to Instagram or Facebook, because platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter are also growing and effective for attracting traffic to your website. To make things easier ask your developer to include icons and links to your social media pages on your website too.
Find an effective SEO company
Word searching on google is huge and probably one of the most effective way to get more traffic to your website. For instance if you fancy some indian good, what do you do? You type in “Indian food in Manchester” or whatever city you are based in. The chances are you will only look at the ones that come up first, meaning the other restaurant have just lost business. You are in constant competition with other businesses in your markets and this is why SEO and key words are huge nowadays. If you are a swimwear company then type in “Buy swimwear” into the Google search. If you are not on the fist 10 pages, chances are you will not be attracting many customers through work searching ONMA.
Boost your social media platforms with followers and likes
Once you have ticked the above, a great way to build your brand’s credibility is to actually boost your page by buying real Instagram likes and real Insatgram followers. People love and trust numbers so by increasing the followers and likes on your platforms you can actually build trustwith your customers and show that your brand is recognised and liked by many.
